Reveiw: P.O.D. Returns With a Vengeance on ‘Outbreak’ Featuring Norma Jean’s Cory Brandan
Readthrough summary
P.O.D. released "Outbreak," featuring Norma Jean vocalist Cory Brandan, on Sept. 30 through Mascot Records. Heaven's Metal's reviewer calls it an explosive reminder of why the band became one of nu-metal's best-known names.
The review praises Marcos Curiel's guitars, Wuv Bernardo's drums and Traa Daniels' bass, and says Sonny Sandoval and Brandan's screams complement each other naturally. The high point is a breakdown with repeated screams of "Outbreak!"
Like much of P.O.D.'s catalog, the reviewer writes, the song addresses humanity's struggles and spiritual battles, this time wrapped in an apocalyptic nightmare.
